Bob Brown has 3 degrees in Mechanical Engineering from UC Berkeley, came to Washington in 1964 to work at Boeing on the staff scientists PhD level, then became first PhD graduate of the University of Washington Geophysics program. He then was a Fellow at the National Center for Atmospheric Sciences in Boulder, CO, where he was converted to an Atmospheric Scientist. He then came to the University of Washington and spent 35-years as a Research and Academic Professor in the Atmospheric Sciences department.
He specializes in the fluid mechanics of geophysics flow, has written two math texts for the atmospheric flow, particularly the flow in the planetary boundary layer. He has been a Principle Scientist on many NASA global satellite projects, hence global change global data.
