Bio

John Hildebrand is a Professor at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and an Adjunct Professor in the UCSD Dept. of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He has contributed to more than 175 peer-reviewed publications, on topics ranging from passive acoustic monitoring of marine mammals, to characterization of underwater noise. His recent research has focused on the use of acoustic techniques for marine mammal population census, and the effects of noise on marine mammals.
