Bio

Has conducted research on the cycling of carbon and nitrogen throughout the global oceans, with affiliations at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, the University of California at Santa Cruz, the University of Washington, the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences, and now the University of Miami. Currently chairman-elect of UNOLS, the University-National Oceanographic Laboratory System, and a member of the Board of Trustees at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences.
