Kawerak, Inc. invites applications for the Fall 2024 - Spring 2025 cohort of their Caleb Scholars Program Fellowship. The program supports tribally enrolled members or descendants from the Norton Sound, Northwest Arctic, and Arctic Slope regions.
The program aims to empower future leaders in conservation, subsistence, and stewardship of natural resources in the spirit of Inuit-led conservation advocacy.
Scholars in the program are awarded $5,000 per semester (for full-time students) or $2,500 per semester (for part-time students.) Scholars also have access to one-on-one mentorship, peer-to-peer support, paid internship opportunities, and supplemental funding to support educational, professional, cultural, wellness, and conservation advocacy experiences.
Applications must include the online application form, transcripts, course registration, responses to essay questions, and one letter of recommendation.
Applications will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. in the applicant’s local time zone on 15 July 2024. The program accepts applications on an annual basis each year on 15 July.
