The Water and Environmental Research Center (WERC) at the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) invites applications for a research faculty position in hydrology. This full-time position will be located in Fairbanks, Alaska.
Applicants should have a background in one or more of the following areas: remote sensing, large scale modeling, permafrost hydrology, surface/groundwater interaction, snow/ice/glacial hydrology that compliments existing expertise, or a general background in related fields. Ideally, this researcher will combine field observations/measurements with advanced techniques in hydrological modeling and/or remote sensing.
A PhD is required and candidates with existing or identified external funding sources are encouraged to apply. Experience working with external public constituencies or communities is a plus and the ability to acquire funding from external sources is essential.
