The Navigating the New Arctic Community Office (NNA-CO) announce their upcoming NNA Annual Community Meeting and invite session and workshop abstracts. The hybrid meeting will take place 15-17 November 2022 in Anchorage, Alaska and online.
The Annual Meeting will include in-person, hybrid, and virtual sessions, workshops, and trainings. Additionally, the meeting will include cultural events in the Anchorage area and an open Town Hall meeting to consist of in-person and virtual talking circles to discuss how the Arctic research community and partners can strengthen collaboration, coordination, and inclusivity within the NNA initiative.
The themes of the Annual Meeting include:
- Sharing and communicating NNA research across knowledge systems, values, and priorities;
- Strengthening equity in Arctic research; and
- Centering holism within the NNA research initiative to achieve societal benefit.
Organizers are also accepting session and workshop proposals from across the NNA community (NNA-funded and prospective researchers, research partners, Indigenous community and organization representatives, etc.) to complement these themes or other priorities that align with the NNA initiative.
All NNA researchers, research partners, Indigenous community and organization representatives, decision-makers, and others who have an interest in the NNA initiative are invited to register. Organizers will be accepting in-person attendees to ensure a diverse list of participants. Funded NNA projects are asked to limit in-person attendance to three project affiliates. If more wish to attend, please inquire about whether space will allow.
Registration will open in August. Those interested can sign up for the monthly NNA Community Newsletter, where organizers regularly share meeting information.
