The University of Arkansas invites applications for a postdoctoral fellow in environmental dynamics. This one-year position is renewable up to four and a half years based on the need for the position, availability of funding, and continued satisfactory level of performance in the role. The position will be located in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
The postdoctoral fellow will participate in a Navigating the New Arctic National Science Foundation-funded project, “Interactions of natural and social systems with climate change, globalization, and infrastructure development in the Arctic.” Duties will include coordinating and working on ecosystem ecology of the Yamal Peninsula, Russian Arctic. The fellow will spend most of their time in Arkansas, but will conduct fieldwork in Yamal each year.
Applicants must have a PhD in ecology, or related field, conferred by time of employment. Preferred qualifications include field experience working in the Arctic, especially with mammals, birds, and/or plants; experience working on impacts of climate change on ecosystems; and working knowledge of Russian.
