Episode Two of The Icepod, the official podcast for the World Meteorological Organization (WMO: https://public.wmo.int/en) Year of Polar Prediction (YOPP: https://www.polarprediction.net/) initiative to improve weather and sea-ice forecast in the Arctic and Antarctic, is now available.
The IcePod features people involved in two big international projects: the Year of Polar Prediction (YOPP) and the Multidisciplinary drifting Observatory for the Study of Arctic Climate (MOSAiC: https://mosaic-expedition.org/). Episode Two, "The Set-Up Scene" takes a further look behind the scenes of MOSAiC with an interview of Thea Schneider, an early career scientist from the University of Potsdam, Germany, who was aboard the support vessel, Russian icebreaker Akademik Fedorov.
