ARCSS/LAII Flux Study

Early results of the Land-Atmosphere-Ice Interactions (LAII) Flux Study were
presented in sessions entitled "Trace Gas Fluxes from Arctic Ecosystems"
at the December 1996 AGU meeting. This reprint volume contains papers based
on those 1996 Flux Study presentations, as well as non-LAII papers relevant
to the theme of trace gas fluxes from northern ecosystems. Of the 17 papers
in this special section, over half deal directly with either the measurement
of trace gas (CO2 and CH4) fluxes or the process and manipulation studies
aimed at understanding environmental controls on the fluxes.
