CLIMATE, CLOTHING, ETC.
April temperatures in Tromso normally vary from +5o /-50. Snow and rain can
come in generous amounts - sturdy footwear and overcoats are recommended.
Accompanying Persons
There is no separate programme for persons accompanying participants.
However, Tromso is a small city and the hotels will advise on local
opportunities. Special arrangements may also be made for a group of
accompanying persons. Tromso, at 700 North, is Norway's largest fishing
port, with a reputation for being both a "gateway to the Arctic" as well as
"the Paris of the North". A number of museums, and art galleries are
available, and there is a lively concert scene for those who enjoy youthful
musical expressions. Excellent skiing - cross-country, telemark and
downhill.

as soon as possible. - Make your hotel reservation as soon as you can, and not later than 25
March. - Inform the IASC Secretariat about attendance at IASC meetings (applies
also for Forum of Arctic Operators), while participants of the European
Polar Board meeting should confirm their attendance to the EPB

The Secretariats are mailing agenda and agenda papers for the various
