additional 3 months contingent on extra-mural funding), Tenure-Track

TYPICAL DUTIES: This is a tenure-track faculty position with the
Fisheries Division, School of Fisheries & Ocean Sciences (SFOS). The
position will be located at the Juneau Center. SFOS is seeking a person
whose expertise complements that of existing faculty examples including
(but not limited to): freshwater or ocean ecology, physiological ecology
and ecosystem modeling or management with an emphasis on salmonids. The
successful applicant will develop a program of research and teaching on
the graduate level. Training and supervision of graduate students will
be an essential function. The successful applicant will be expected to
develop an active research program, with extra-mural funding that
provides support for graduate students. The ability to interact
professionally with biologists and managers in State and Federal
agencies is also essential and the successful applicant will be expected
to serve on advisory panels for such agencies. THIS IS A BARGAINING UNIT
POSITION. THIS IS A 9-MONTH/YEAR APPOINTMENT WITH 12 MONTHS POSSIBLE
DEPENDING UPON EXTRA-MURAL GRANT SUPPORT.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must have a Ph.D. in fisheries,
marine biology, or related scientific field by the time of hire. Must be
proficient in English and have University-level teaching ability,
preferably with graduate teaching experience. Must have published in
peer-reviewed journals and have strong research and publication record
that is appropriate to their experience and date of degree.
