Arctic Council Working Group for the Conservation of Arctic Flora and
Fauna (CAFF)

The position of the Executive Secretary for the Arctic Council Working
Group for the Conservation of Arctic Flora and Fauna (CAFF) is vacant.
The Arctic Council is a high-level inter-governmental forum of the eight
Arctic States (Canada, Denmark/Greenland, Finland, Iceland, Norway,
Russia, Sweden and the United States), six Arctic Indigenous Peoples
Organizations, and over twenty observer countries and organizations, to
address the common concerns and challenges faced by the arctic
governments and the people of the Arctic.
Iceland hosts the CAFF International Secretariat, which is located in
the town of Akureyri in northern Iceland.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
- administrative experience and initiative
- a university degree in biology or another applicable discipline
- experience with international scientific co-operation
- good general knowledge of the Arctic with special emphasis on flora
and fauna
- fluency in English
The Secretary will be hired for one year initially and will be required
to start as soon as possible. Applicants meeting the above criteria
