Doctoral Studentship Position in Marine Ecology (Dr. Scientist)
Akvaplan-niva, Tromso
The candidate will study energetic pathways and trophic structure of
arctic marine ecosystems in northern Svalbard. The study is part of
research into effects of changing sea ice conditions associated with
different climatic regimes on energetic flows in high-latitude systems.
The applicant should have a background in marine biology, ecology, or
biological oceanography, be familiar with applied statistical analyses,
and be willing to work under rigorous arctic field conditions. Previous
experience with marine food webs and experimental ecology would be an
asset.
The position is financed by the Research Council of Norway (NFR) and
administered through the project research consortium consisting of
Akvaplan-niva, Norwegian Polar Institute, and the University of Tromso
Norwegian College of Fisheries Science (NFH).
