The third biannual conference on Assessment and Remediation of
Contaminated Sites in Arctic and Cold Climates (ARCSACC) will be held in
Edmonton, Alberta, Canada from 4-6 May, 2003. Building on the success
of Kingston '95, Edmonton '99 and Edmonton'01, the objective of the
Edmonton '03 conference is to bring together technical experts,
regulators, land owners and all other individuals to address
contaminated sites remediation and assessment in the unique context of
the Arctic and cold climates. This conference has become the premier
event bringing together researchers, service providers and users, and
regulators who deal with northern cleanup, with over 225 participants at
the 2001 event. This workshop is designed to be a useful source of
information to engineers, technologists and other environmental
professionals working in cold climates. It is intended to provide a
forum for the exchange of information gathered through research and
project experience in Arctic and cold climate locations.

Topics to be included in the presentations include:
-Site Investigation/Assessment
-Remediation
-Contaminant Migration in Permafrost
-Hydrocarbon Spill Behavior
-Mining Issues
-Landfills and Impoundments
-First Nation Perspectives
-Land-use Issues
