Deadline for receipt of proposals 21 May 2003
May 21st is the deadline for receipt of proposals in a new European
Commission funding program. The EC's Sixth Framework Programme includes the
introduction of Marie Curie Incoming International Fellowships
(http://fp6.cordis.lu/fp6/call_details.cfm?CALL_ID=30) which are open to
individuals in "third countries" (countries other than the 15 EU
Member States and "Associated Countries" that contribute funds to the
Framework Programme.)
The description of this fellowship program can be found at:
http://fp6.cordis.lu/fp6/call_details.cfm?CALL_ID=30
The fellowships will support research visits of one to two years in a
host research organization in either an EU Member State or an Associated
Country. Part of the fellowship can be used to support research during
a two year reintegration period in the fellow's country of origin. The
EC has allocated EUR 9 million (about $10 million) to the May deadline.
An additional EUR 11 million ($12 million) has been allocated to a 12
February 2004 deadline. This EC program is an excellent opportunity for
young American researchers to gain international experience.
