The Department of Geography and Geology, University of Copenhagen seeks
a candidate with experience and interest in element cycling in wetlands
and/or estuaries related to oxygen dynamics for a postdoctoral research
position. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting
field and model-based investigations in both an estuarial and wetland
ecosystem related to changes in the water table position, oxygen
availability, and subsurface greenhouse gas production.

Candidates must hold a PhD in environmental science, physical geography,
or another relevant field and must have experience in one or more of the
following areas: oxygen dynamics, wetland/estuarial ecology, ecosystem
dynamics, hydrology, and biogeochemical modeling. The ability to work on
a collaborative interdisciplinary team is important. The position is
open from 1 June 2007, or as soon as possible thereafter, and is funded
for two years with possible renewal up to three years in total. The
salary depends on seniority, as agreed between the Ministry of Finance
and the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. Negotiation
for further supplement is possible.

The candidate will join a collaborative research project funded by the
National Research Council (FNU) involving geographers, geochemists, and
biologists from the University of Copenhagen. One PhD fellow and two
Masters students are already working within the project.

Applications, including a detailed CV, list of publications, and names
and contacts of three references, should be submitted by Saturday, 28
