The Center for International Climate and Environmental Research (CICERO)
in Oslo, Norway is seeking a candidate in the social sciences with an
interest in studies of adaptation and vulnerability to climate change,
with an emphasis on the Arctic. The researcher will be part of a team
conducting a number of projects in local communities in the North. The
research will include fieldwork and requires interdisciplinary
collaboration. An understanding of the consequences of climate change on
socioeconomic, political, and cultural aspects is preferable. In
addition, the successful candidate will have an interest in analyzing
coupled social-biophysical systems.
The successful candidate will have a Masters-level degree in a relevant
subject, the ability to work in an interdisciplinary setting, excellent
team-working and communication skills, and excellent written and oral
English skills. The application deadline is Friday, 19 October 2007, and
the position is to be filled as soon as possible.
