The North Pacific Research Board (NPRB) announces the release of its
regular 2008 Request for Proposals (RFP). Proposals should address
research priorities as identified by the NPRB Science Plan. Funds are
available for a total of $4 million USD.
Proposals must be submitted online by 4:00 p.m. Alaska Standard Time,
Friday, 30 November 2007. The Online Proposal Submission System will be
available 1-30 November 2007.
The NPRB was created by Congress in 1997 to recommend marine research
initiatives to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce. Its mission is to develop
a comprehensive science program of the highest caliber to enhance
understanding of the North Pacific, Bering Sea, and Arctic Ocean
ecosystems and fisheries. It conducts its work through science planning,
prioritization of pressing fishery management and ecosystem information
needs, coordination and cooperation among research programs, competitive
selection of research projects, increased information availability, and
public involvement.
