The Annual Meeting of the U.S. Permafrost Association (USPA) will be
held during the 2007 Fall Meeting of the American Geophysical Union
(AGU) in San Francisco, California. The meeting will take place on
Sunday, 9 December 2007, from 5:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the San Francisco
Marriott Hotel, Sierra A (5th floor).
The USPA is a strong national organization of scientists and engineers
involved in permafrost research. Permafrost spans many disciplines and
is an important component of the hydrosphere, biosphere, and cryosphere.
The USPA aims to educate the public to recognize this importance, while
working to improve our understanding of how permafrost terrain is
influenced by natural and human disturbances. The USPA promotes
awareness of permafrost-related issues among the public and the training
of new generations of scientists and engineers.
