The National Science Foundation (NSF) is seeking qualified candidates
for a Program Director position within the Office of the Director,
Office of Polar Programs, (OPP), Division of Arctic Sciences, Arctic
Natural Sciences Program, in Arlington, Virginia. The position will be
filled as either a permanent appointment or as a temporary appointment.
Major responsibilities include: the administration of the merit review
process and proposal recommendations, the preparation of press releases,
writing feature articles and material describing advances in the
research supported, and coordination and liaison with other programs
within NSF and other Federal agencies and organizations.
Applicants must have an earned a PhD, or have equivalent experience, in
science or engineering, in addition to having at least six years of
research, research administration, and/or managerial experience
pertinent to the position.
The successful candidate will need to complete a background security
investigation before being appointed to this position.
