The Prince William Sound Science Center, in Cordova, Alaska, invites
applications for a Field Biologist and Lab Technician position. Review
of applications will begin on Thursday, 26 June 2008, but will remain
open until filled.
The biologist / lab technician will assist both in the lab and on
research cruises collecting data related to a herring forage contingency
project. The majority of work involves preparation and analysis of
laboratory samples, sample management, and data entry. Some of the lab
samples are prepared for stable isotope analysis at labs outside
Cordova, and additional lab and field duties may be required. The field
work requires 7-14 day cruises approximately four times each year. When
not in the field, the work week will be a regular 40-hour week.
To be considered for this position, applicants must have at least an
Associate's degree in biology with basic computer skills. A Bachelor's
degree and zoological taxonomic experience is preferred. Interested
