The IEEE GRSS (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
Geoscience and Remote Sensing Society) announces WHISPERS '09, the
"Workshop on Hyperspectral Image and Signal Processing: Evolution in
Remote Sensing," to be held in Grenoble, France, 26-28 August 2009.
The aim of the workshop is to gather researchers working with
hyperspectral data and spectroscopy, from physical modeling, acquisition
and calibration, to data processing and applications. Papers and session
proposals are invited in the following topics:
- Spectrometers and hyperspectral sensors: design and calibration;
- Physical modeling and physical analysis;
- Noise estimation and reduction;
- Dimension reduction;
- Source separation and end-member extraction;
- Segmentation and classification;
- High performance computing and compression;
- Airborne and satellite remote sensing;
- Monitoring of the environment, pollution, and precision agriculture;
- Biomedical imagery;
- Defense application;
- Industrial inspection; and
- Astrophysics.
Submissions should include:
- The title of the proposed session;
- Name and affiliation of one or two people submitting the session (and
the expected session chair);
- Title of the papers to be included in the session, with names and
affiliations of the authors, and a short abstract (10 to 15 lines per
paper); and
- The session type: a 5-paper oral session, a 10-paper oral session, a
10-poster session, or a 20-poster session.
