The International Study of Arctic Change (ISAC) is organizing the fourth
day of the State of the Arctic Conference, which will be convened 16-19
March 2010 in Miami, Florida. More information about the conference can
be found at: http://soa.arcus.org/.
The fourth day (Friday, 19 March) will focus on international
collaboration in arctic research. It is organized around a series of
plenary talks outlining the science reliant on future international
collaborations, a review of several arctic research programs and
projects, and an international agency panel discussion. Other
discussions will include:
- Needs for facilitating effective international collaboration;
- The interaction of scientific drivers and operational frameworks
for an integrated pan-arctic observing system;
- The development of an integrated responding to change component of
ISAC, which can effectively connect the research community with
stakeholders; and
- The major challenges and opportunities facing collaborative and
coordinated efforts.
