The Oil Spill Recovery Institute (OSRI) has released its request for
proposals for fiscal year 2011. Proposals are being sought for seven
different requests:

- Oil Spill Detection Under Ice - One or two proposals to
demonstrate proof of concept for detecting oil under ice.
- Monitoring Temporal Variability - A proposal to develop an
economical monitoring program that can help identify temporal
variability in ecological indicators in the near shore environment.
- Sound Predictions Model Validation - A proposal to demonstrate how
data collected during the Sound Predictions exercise impacts oil
spill trajectory model results.
- Graduate Research Fellowships - A proposal for graduate work
related to oil spill response or recovery in arctic and sub-arctic
waters.
- Summer Internship - A proposal to provide an internship
opportunity with an oil spill response organization.
- Science and Technology Education - A proposal to develop kits and
curriculum materials for a technology education program.
- Summer Education Program - A proposal for developing summer
education materials that can be incorporated into programs around
Alaska.
