2016 AGU Elections
Organizers remind the community to participate in the 2016 American
Geophysical Union (AGU) elections, which are open through 27 September
2016. To participate, go to: elections.agu.org.
Every two years, AGU members elect people who will lead the organization
for the next four or more years. These volunteer leaders commit to
advancing the mission, vision, goals, and core values outlined in AGU's
strategic plan. Elected AGU leaders play an essential role in decisions
on how to serve and engage members in AGU. Leaders elected this year
begin their service on 1 January 2017.

- Call for Photo Contributions
2017 IASC Yearbook
The International Arctic Science Committee (IASC) announces a call for
photo contributions to the 2017 yearbook and other IASC publications
including the website, brochure, and calendar.
The committee invites council members, related research institutions,
and scientists to contribute new photographs. They welcome images
depicting all areas of arctic science including scientists in the field,
animals, landscapes, and everyday life at work.
Photography image quality must be about 3500 x 2500 pixel. Contributions
should include a short description of the image and background
information about the project, identification of the location in the
image, name of photographer and institute, and contact information.
Selections will be based on geographical and thematic representation.
Only photographers whose contributions are selected for publication will
be notified. Unless otherwise indicated, IASC will assume permission for
use of contributed photographs for any IASC involved publications. No
photos in the IASC database will be used for commercial purposes. Any
requests for commercial use will be referred to the photographer.
