Texas A&M University Department of Geography invites applications for
two tenure track professor positions in the area of physical geography.
The successful candidates will be based in College Station, Texas.

Research specializations should complement existing departmental
strengths in biogeography, climatology, and/or geomorphology.
Combinations of research expertise among these specialties are
encouraged as well as the integration with geospatial technologies.
Essential characteristics include:
-Publications commensurate with experience;
-Demonstrated capability to secure external funding;
-The ability to contribute to GIS research and teaching; and,
-The ability to strengthen the graduate program in Geography through
course offerings and mentoring students.

Candidates should have the potential for creating synergies with
existing Department strengths, must have a Ph.D. at the time of
appointment, and a have strong commitment to excellence in research and
teaching. These two positions are part of a group of tenure-track lines
to be filled over the coming year, as Texas A&M Geography is also
searching for three human geographers.

The Department of Geography (http://geography.tamu.edu) has 15 faculty
members with strengths in biogeography, climatology, geomorphology,
human geography, human-environment relationships, and Geographic
Information Science and Technology (GIST) and is based in the College of
Geosciences (http://geosciences.tamu.edu) with the Departments of
Atmospheric Sciences, Geology & Geophysics, and Oceanography, and play a
major role in the Environmental Programs in Geosciences.

The Department of Geology at Lund University is accepting applications
for a senior university lecturer position in the area of glacial
geology. The position is based in Lund, Sweden.

The successful candidate is expected to build up an active research
group, strengthening the existing research within Quaternary Sciences at
the Department of Geology. Documented ability to generate external
funding is expected and will be assessed based on the track record of
the candidate.

The main duties of the position are research (amounting to approx. 60%)
and teaching (up to 40%), primarily within glacial geology, but also
within applied Quaternary geology. A senior lecturer at the division of
Quaternary Sciences is expected to engage in teaching at all levels
(BSc., MSc. and PhD) and take an active part in pedagogical development.
Administrative duties may be included, although not during the first few
years. Information on current education at basic and advanced levels as

The successful applicant should hold a doctoral degree in Quaternary
Geology or equivalent (often Physical Geography in Anglo-Saxon
countries), the documented ability to teach, plan and develop courses as
well as supervise at all levels within the fields of glacial
stratigraphy, sediments, landforms and processes. Also required is a
detailed teaching portfolio including documented pedagogical skills.
