    CLIVAR Open Science Conference
    18-25 September 2016
    Qingdao, China

Organizers of the Climate Variability and Predictability Program
(CLIVAR) Open Science Conference announce a call for abstracts. This
conference will focus on charting the course for climate and ocean
research. The meeting will be held 18-25 September 2016 in Qingdao,
China.

Abstracts must be submitted to one of the Open Science Conference
sessions. Self-organized poster sessions or "clusters" that and address
a specific research topic are being accepted. Applications for the Early
Career Scientist Symposium are also being accepted. Limited funding is
available for early career applicants and applicants from developing
countries.

Abstract submission deadline: 15 March 2016.

The University of the Arctic announces a call for scientific abstracts
for the first ever UArctic Congress. The meeting will take place from
13-16 September 2016 in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

We now invite abstracts for the following science themes:

-Vulnerability of Arctic Environments;
-Vulnerability of Arctic Societies;
-Local and Traditional Knowledge;
-Building Long-Term Human Capacity; and
-New Markets for the Arctic, Including Trade, Tourism and Transportation.

Abstract submission deadline: 21 March 2016.
