The 2014 Climate and Cryosphere (CliC) Project annual report is
available online. This report summarizes many activities sponsored,
supported, and initiated by CliC over the past few years as well as
their plans for upcoming year(s).

    Asiaq Greenland Survey

Asiaq, the Geological Survey of Greenland, announces availability of
archives in Nuuk, Greenland that may be of interest to researchers.
Archived materials include historical paper records of building papers,
measurements, maps, aerial photos, and more dating back to 1953. Most
documents are written in Danish.

In addition to the paper archive, Asiaq has fully detailed, updated, and
digitized models for all inhabited areas. Statistics about Greenland
from both the Greenlandic and the Danish statistical bureaus are
available. Noting that land is not privately owned in Greenland could
lead to interesting projects in sociology, economy, anthropology, and
other science areas.

"Etudes/Inuit/Studies" is a biannual scholarly journal that has been
published since 1977. The journal is devoted to the study of Inuit
societies, either traditional or contemporary, in the general
perspective of social sciences and humanities (ethnology, politics,
archaeology, linguistics, history, etc.). In addition to a number of
articles each volume contains book reviews, a list of scientific events,
and articles published in other journals.

Volume 38, Number 1-2, 2014 includes book reviews and articles on the
theme of Inuit cultures, governance, and cosmopolitics with an
introduction by Frederic Laugrand.

Sustainable Futures North (SFN) announces online availability of a short
film entitled "Sea Ice Secure." The SFN project is concerned with
developing an understanding of the interactions among environmental
security, natural resource development, and climate change in the North
American arctic and subarctic regions.

This film showcases how Northwest rural Alaskan villages are seeking
effective ways of adapting to rapid changes in climate, weather, and
development. Viewers will be immersed into the daily lives of active
hunters,fishers, and gatherers at home and while out in the arctic
landscape.
