Abstract submissions are invited for the joint meeting of the 49th
Congress of the Canadian Meteorological and Oceanographic Society and
the 13th American Meteorological Society Conference on Polar Meteorology
and Oceanography. This meeting will be held at Whistler, British
Columbia, from May 31 to June 4 2015.
The theme of the conference is "Tropics to Poles: Advancing Science in
High Latitudes." Plenary speakers include Chris McLinden, David
Battisti, Elizabeth Barnes, Garry Clarke, Marika Holland, David Fissel,
Nadja Steiner and Mary-Louise Timmermans.
Organizers invite members of the polar science community to submit
abstracts to sessions that include:
- Polar hazards and extremes
- Polar clouds and aerosols
- Polar/lower-latitude connections
- Mechanisms of polar change and variability
- Polar marine and terrestrial biogeochemistry
- Polar coupled climate modeling
- Polar forecasts
- State of the cryosphere
- Glaciers and ice sheets and oceanic coupling
- High-resolution sea ice-ocean modeling

The Exxon Valdez Oil Spill (EVOS) Trustee Council's Public Advisory
Committee will meet on Wednesday, 4 February 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in
Anchorage, Alaska. The meeting will be held in the Endeavor Room of the
Hotel Captain Cook, located at 939 West 5th Avenue.
The primary topic for discussion is the FY 2017-2021 Draft Invitation.
The meeting is open to the public, and may be attended in person or via

21st International Tundra Experiment Meeting
15-18 September 2015
Uppsala, Sweden
The Swedish Agricultural University, Uppsala University, and The
International Tundra Experiment (ITEX) announces that the 21st ITEX
meeting is scheduled for 15-18 September 2015. It will be held at the
Campus Ultuna, Swedish Agricultural University in Uppsala, Sweden.
All areas of ecological research spanning climate change and above and
belowground processes in alpine or polar regions are welcome.
Information on how and when to register, conference fees, and
instructions for oral and poster presentations will be announced soon.
