The National Science Foundation (NSF) is seeking a qualified candidate
to fill the position of Program Director in the Marine Geology and
Geophysics Program in the Division of Ocean Sciences (OCE), Directorate
for Geosciences (GEO). The position will be based in Arlington, Virginia.

The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of research in marine
geophysics, including research relating to: the structure and tectonic
evolution of the oceanic lithosphere and its associated volcanic,
magmatic, hydrothermal, and earthquake activity; the tectonics and
morphology of the seafloor and the geodynamic processes that create it;
and subseafloor fluid flow that controls the exchange of heat and
chemical species between seawater, abyssal ecosystems, and ocean crust
and oversee. The individual selected for this position will also oversee
NSF-funded marine geophysical infrastructure, coordinating closely as
needed with the Division of Ocean Sciences facilities group on assets
such as the Ocean Bottom Seismograph Instrument Pool, R/V Langseth, and
marine geophysics data centers.

  1. Sitka Sound Science Center seeks Fellows
    Arctic or sub-Arctic Studies
    Sitka, Alaska

The Sitka Sound Science Center is pleased to announce that applications
are now being accepted for the FY15 Scientist in Residency Fellowships.

The 2015 Fellowships (of which there are three) are intended for
mid-career scientists studying the Arctic or sub-Arctic. The Fellowship
is for one month of residency in Sitka, Alaska. Housing, travel, per
diem, and stipend will be provided. Fellows will spend one week of their
month engaged in community and student outreach and will partake in
training specific to communicating science in rural Alaska.

  1. AOOS seeks Applicants to Two Positions
    Operations Director / Program Coordinator
    Anchorage, Alaska

The Alaska Ocean Observing System (AOOS) seeks applications to two
positions, an Operations Director and a Program Coordinator. Both
positions will be based in Anchorage, Alaska.

Operations Director
This full-time position is based in Anchorage and involves working with
the AOOS Executive Director and a small staff based in Anchorage as well
as the statewide AOOS Board to manage ongoing programs and planning
efforts. The Operations Director will be responsible for the day-to-day
operations and administration of a program that spans the entire
ocean/coast of Alaska and is funded at approximately $3 million a year.
AOOS has ongoing or anticipated partnerships with Russia and Canada.
Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a related field plus a
minimum of two years' supervisory experience.

Program Coordinator
This full-time position is based in Anchorage and works with the AOOS
Executive Director and staff, the AOOS Data Management team, and
partners and stakeholders to develop and implement the AOOS vision and
program. Applicants must have a Bachelor's degree in a science or
environmental field plus a minimum of two years of relevant experience.
