Organizers of the "Public Participation in Scientific Research" (PPSR)
conference announce that the deadline for abstract submission has been
extended to Tuesday, 15 May 2012. The conference will be convened 4-5
August 2012 in Portland, Oregon. It is being held in conjunction with
the annual meeting of the Ecological Society of America (ESA), which is
scheduled 6-10 August 2012.
With the rapid growth and innovation of PPSR, there is a need for
sharing insights across projects and fields of study. Organizers
encourage researchers, project leaders, educators, technology
specialists, evaluators, and others to submit abstracts in order to
share work with a wide range of colleagues at this event. If financial
considerations are a barrier to attendance, scholarship opportunities
are available. The deadline for scholarship application is also 15 May:
http://www.citizenscience.org/community/conference2012/scholarships/.
An agenda, including a list of conference speakers, is available online:
http://www.citizenscience.org/community/conference2012/agenda/speakers/.
The conference will culminate in an open meeting to explore strategies
for large-scale collaborations to support and advance work across this
field, potentially through the development of an association.
Abstract submission deadline: Tuesday, 15 May 2012.
Scholarship application deadline: Tuesday, 15 May 2012.
Early registration deadline: Thursday, 14 June 2012.
