The International Arctic Research Center (IARC) announces the
availability of partial travel support for the Tenth International
Conference on Permafrost. The conference will be held 25-29 June 2012 in
Salekhard, Russia.
Applications are sought from students, postdoctoral researchers,
faculty, and investigators at U.S. institutions. Young investigators,
students, and members of underrepresented groups are especially
encouraged to apply. Successful applicants must submit a paper or
extended abstract for presentation as a talk or poster at the
conference, and must be enrolled at or employed by a U.S. institution.
Selection of applicants will be based upon relevance of research topic
to conference themes. The awards will cover registration and/or partial
travel support with lesser amounts awarded to more well-established
applicants. The National Science Foundation's Office of Polar Programs
has provided funds to support these travel grants.
