The deadline for Professional Opportunities for Women in Research and Education (POWRE) http://www.nsf.gov/bio/pubs/nsf9791/nsf9791.htm supplements is fast approaching (Feb. 17, 1998). The polar field programs provide a good vehicle for POWRE supplements, but proposals in all areas are encouraged by the National Science Foundation (NSF) Office of Polar Programs.
