SESSION DESCRIPTION
High Technology is rapidly enabling new and important research in the
Cryosphere. It is also causing fundamental changes in the lives of the
inhabitants of the cryosphere. This special session focuses on enabling
technologies and their applications and implications for current and
potential physical and human geographic research in the Arctic and
Antarctic.
The session is sponsored by the Remote Sensing Specialty Group and the
Cryosphere Specialty Group of the AAG and will include a final
presentation by discussant Rick Forster, Chair of AAG Remote Sensing
Specialty Group.
Please note that, starting this year, registration and abstract
submission are only available from the AAG web site. Also, special
sessions can only be requested after session presenters have
individually registered for the meeting, and received their Participant
Number. The registration deadline is 21 October 2004, so please e-mail
Rick Forster with your Participant Number and presentation title no
later than 10 October to allow enough time for submission of the special
session.
